What is this?
The purpose of this service is to facilitate the customers
to customize the Rational Unified Process (RUP) to suit to
the organization or project needs. The service closely follows
the customization methodology as advocated in RUP. The following
sections provide an overview of the activities involved.

helps the team achieve predictability. The process should
also provide the team the benefits of industrial best practices.
The Rational Unified Process is essentially an encapsulation
of best practices in software development. It provides the
necessary methods and guidelines to develop a quality software
system. However, the process needs to be customized to cater
to various organizations and projects. Each organization or
project presents specific challenges. The RUP should be configured
to cater to these challenges as against a rote adaptation
of it. This provides the necessary formalism based on the
current needs.

What are the different models we offer?
Astra Infotech offers the following services with respect
to Analysis and design:
- Training: One day training program on the foundations
of RUP and another day for the basics of customization.
- Consulting: This service facilitates the project managers
in evolving appropriate process for their projects. Our
consultants work along with the project manager in establishing
the appropriate process and implement the same.
- Quickstart: This is a combination of training and consulting.
The methodology is imparted in a short time with the hands-on
being done on the project itself. This provides the shortest
path to implement the methodology, ideally suited for small
teams and projects.
What is the normal working model?
- Trainings are imparted onsite with our trainers directly
interacting with the project team
- Consulting is either done wholly onsite or using an onsite-offshore
model. Part of the documentation activities could be done
offshore. This offers cost effective model for the customers.
