What is this?
The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) provides
specifications for attaining various levels of maturity. The
purpose of this service is to facilitate the customers to
realize the CMMI goals using the Rational Unified Process
practices. The following sections provide an overview of the
activities involved.
Why this?
Any development team requires a process that is robust and
helps the team achieve predictability. The CMMI model as advocate
by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) provides a framework
of process element for software development. It is advantageous
for customers to utilize the framework and the RUP to evolve
a robust process. This provides the advantages for both the
standard CMMI model and the proven best practices as encapsulated
in the RUP. The process should also provide the team the benefits
of industrial best practices. Adaption of such a process increases
the capability for delivering quality software systems with
predictable results.

What are the different models we offer?
Astra Infotech offers the following services with respect
to Analysis and design:
- Training: One day training program on the foundations
of CMMI and another day for the basics of RUP.
- Consulting: This service facilitates the organization
in evolving appropriate process for their projects based
on CMMI and RUP frameworks. Our consultants work along with
the process managers in establishing the appropriate process
and implement the same.
- Quickstart: This is a combination of training and consulting.
The methodology is imparted in a short time with the hands-on
being done on the project itself. This provides the shortest
path to implement the methodology, ideally suited for small
teams and projects.
What is the normal working model?
- Trainings are imparted onsite with our trainers directly
interacting with the project team
- Consulting is either done wholly onsite or using an onsite-offshore
model. Part of the documentation activities could be done
offshore. This offers cost effective model for the customers.
